OUR FUTURE RESEARCH PROPOSAL

Study 1 - Online Questionnaires
We are exploring the impact of COPD has on quality of life for the both the person who is experiencing COPD and also the person that supports/cares for them as well.
This will be done through online questionnaires – exploring physiological factors (i.e. breathlessness, COPD specific) and psychological factors (i.e. depression, anxiety, compassion, isolation).
You can take part in this project if:
-
You are aged 18 years old and above
-
You have COPD
or -
You support/care for someone with COPD
-
Understand written information in English
Study 2 - Focus Groups
Building on from the what we find from the study 1 questionnaires from both the person who is experiencing COPD and the person that cares/supports them, explore further in focus groups.
For example to openly discuss as a group about health assisted technologies that may be of use, how COPD impacts on day-to-day life with a reduction in exercise, poor sleep and through a focus group talk more in depth of why this might be and what may be possible solutions to investigate further.
Further details to follow in due course.
Study 3 - Clinical Trial
A clinical trial will be conducted.
